It's Collin brother!!

This past weekend we (Rich and I) were in Salt Lake City on business and Saturday afternoon and Sunday we spent with Collin. We went to lunch with and to see my friend Sheila's new home, got his broken retainer fixed(Thank You Wendell!!!) and just sort of putzed around. This photo was taken after we went to his ward for the whole block and ate lasagna at his apartment. Here we were all sitting on Collins bed. A few minutes later I rolled up my jacket and layed it on his pillow and layed myself down for a few quick winks. Then rich balled up the comforter and placed it on my hip and did the same. We must have been tired. Pretty soon we were both dozing. We were up in time to take Collin to Stake Choir practice, say our goodbyes, and be off to the airport. It was a good trip!

Last Night

I was whirling around on the dance floor.
I was Sandy, crooning about last summer with Danny.
I was a live wire; I was unstoppable; I was singing Hairspray.
I was jumping up and down, trying to sing a song I'd never heard.
I was swinging and spinning around with Stephanie, giddy on centrifugal force.

I was a rock star; I was a dancer; I was someone I didn't know.
I was not afraid of anything.

To sum it up, let's just say last night was a-mazing. Maybe I overuse parallel structure sometimes, (i.e. I am the Rajah of Reconciliation!) but how else could I convey to you the way things were then?
We were geniuses; we were the thought of tomorrow; we were eating cookies.

Yum.

These are a Few of My Favorite Things

This morning as I was hiking I thought about how much I love certain podcasts and thought I'd share them with all of you. After all, podcasting was the reason I wanted an ipod.
1st- NPR: Wait, Wait... don't tell me!
I love this one. It has me laughing all the time. People look at me funny because I sometimes burst out laughing while hiking. It's NPR's weekly news quiz show along with some stuff that they make up.
2nd is a tie. I like each of these equally but I'll go with what I discovered first.
KCRW's Good Food. This is their description of the show: "Your weekly treat from Evan Kleiman. By tuning in to Good Food, you can discover great restaurants that you've never heard of, the politics of consumption, explorations of cultures through their food customs and some of the most interesting people who devote their lives to various elements of the food supply." I like this one because I learn all sorts of random stuff about food. I also have picked up a few good reads about the science behind why we eat what we do and how much etc. That book is called "Mindless Eating" by Brian Wansink. Lots of food studies and stuff like that. I learned how to make a delicious no knead bread from this show, an apple galette and other random food stuff. Love it.
WBEZ's This American Life. This is their description:Official free, weekly podcast of the award-winning radio show "This American Life." First-person stories and short fiction pieces that are touching, funny, and surprising. Hosted by Ira Glass, from WBEZ Chicago Public Radio. In mp3 and updated Mondays.
Just plain interesting like people are.
3rd Mormonmomcast.com. Their description:LDS Moms who like to talk (and talk and...)
It's like sitting around with family or friends without being able to comment. (A lot of times that's a good thing. Just listen.) Good recipes, lessons learned, parenting moments, escapades of family life etc.
Seasonally, I love to listen to most college football podcasts. Fight On!

PRO BOWL!!! and other things

The NFC prevailed. YAY! I like the NFC. I found out that in the pro bowl everyone wears their teams helmet, so it looks really cool. Adrian Peterson was the MVP.NOTE:he is a rookie. Note:he and marshall faulk are the only rookies to be named MVP of the Pro Bowl.Today I bought Some football Cards, I didnt get anyone like reggie bush or Tom Brady though. It was a bummer. Any way The south won the senior bowl. AND....HOPEFULLY USC will Beat UCLA in basketball again, but it is not probable.TO COLLIN:Yesterday i kind of built a hand crank radio, part of it was already done, but I did the circuits on this one part. It was cool.

Yessssssssssssss...

Right now I'm only sitting at the receptionist's desk in Dad's office, but it feels like I am on top of the world.

I am Queen of Quickbooks.
I am Empress of Entries.
I am Rajah of Reconciliation!

After much tedious work, I have finally reconciled the books for all of 2007.

I am soooooooooooooooo happy!
Mwahahahaha!

Peaceful Hiking

Hiking today was quiet. I forgot to juice up the ipod so I hiked in silence. It was peaceful. Just my heavy breathing and the crunch of shoe on gravel. What I noticed the most though was the absence of people on the trail. Usually during this time of year it can get to be a freeway up there. Sometimes annoyingly so. This morning it was pretty quiet. I never passed anyone on the way up that was going up. VERY unusual. The only people I saw were coming down and they were few in number. It was beautiful there. I think it will be a beautiful wildflower season this year thanks to the rainfall. I'll post pictures if it does. Already the mountains have a green tint to them. Yeah!!!
